The Limpopo Health Department on the 1st of March 2022, advertised 714 EPWP vacancies on their Facebook page. They are looking for 400 Admin Assistants, 265 General Food Service Workers, 34 EPWP U-Filling Assistants, and 15 Data Capturers.
How much is the stipend?
The successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of R3000. This has not been well received by some of the Facebook users. They go on to say, the government is not solving the unemployment problem by offering such an “inhumane” stipend.
“Positions not leadership or internship with that stipend 3000 this is a pure inhuman on the part of poor South African. Our government is not solving a problem but rather adding salt on a wound” A Facebook user commented under the work opportunities advertisements followed by like, love, and crying emojis by fellow Facebook users.
What are the requirements?
These positions mainly require people with grade 12or ABET certificates. They say a tertiary qualification is an added advantage. For Admin Assistant positions, they require grade 12 and recognized NQF level 6 qualifications as recognized by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
