SASSA SRD Grant Pending | What it Means and What to Do
After submitting your application to Sassa for the SRD grant, your application is stored on the system for human review. Immediately when you submit it, it will show you a certain status. The first status may be “application complete”.

The status of your application will change on the system monthly because each month, Sassa will have to verify your details. In this post, we will focus on what the pending status means and what to do about it.
There are different types of pending statuses you may find on your application. If you have applied during the previous cycle and have not yet applied for the current cycle, you may find your status saying ‘reapplication pending’. If you have applied for the current cycle, it may say ‘pending’ for a particular month.
Let us explain what each pending status means in more detail.
Reapplication pending
When your grant status says ‘Reapplication pending’ it means that no re-application has been received by Sassa. That means you have not yet reapplied for the current cycle. And that means your application is not yet received by Sassa.
What to do about ‘Reapplication pending’ status?
All you must do is to re-submit your application to Sassa via the website or WhatsApp channel.
Pending for a certain period
If your grant status says ‘pending’ for a certain month it means a re-application was successfully received. Verification of the application for the period is pending for that month. For example, if you check your grant status in June and it shows ‘pending’ it means that your application has not yet been verified for June. The status will change as soon as the verification has been completed.
Here is what Sassa says “Pending means your application has not yet been approved, your details still need to be screened and verified first. Once approved, you will receive an SMS from SASSA requesting your banking details, then you will be paid.”
What to do about ‘pending’ grant status?
You have to check back the status later in the month for an update.
How to Check Sassa SRD R350 Status online
Step 1: Go to the SASSA SRD website
Step 2; Scroll down to ‘Application Status’
Step 4: Click on ‘Click here to check online’
Step 5: Enter your ID number and cellphone number used during registration.
Step 6: Follow the remaining steps to check your status
You should then be able to see the status of your R350 grant application.
