Sandton 12 month program will offer a theoretical element aligned to an NQF Learnership program and practical on-site work experience to improve the skills and workplace performance of entry-level learners. It provides foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, communication, computer, and basic business principles.
It is suitable for Grade 12 qualified persons to develop essential professional skills. During the practical component, Learners will provide administrative support to improve the effectiveness of managers and the departments in general as work readiness preparation.
The theoretical component will cover Entrepreneurship, Business Operations, Customer Service, Business Accounting, Maths Literacy, Communication Skills, and Computer Skills.

The full 3-year training program is accredited by the Southern African Institute of Welding (SAIW) and a commitment to academic excellence is essential.
The IPE (Inspector of Pressurised Equipment) is responsible to oversee and certify repairs and manufacturing of new equipment at Sasol Secunda works. Duties include welding inspection, certification of materials, compliance with the manufacturing or repair codes, and review of manufacturing documentation.
The CP (Competent Inspector) is responsible for the physical inspection and certification of equipment at Sasol Secunda works to ensure equipment operates safely until the next inspection. Duties include visual inspection, non-destructive testing, writing reports, and assessment of records and documentation.
To be eligible you require a National Senior Certificate with Mathematics 50%, Engineering Science/ Physical Science 50%, and English 50%. A Completed S4 in Mechanical/ Metallurgy/ Welding Engineering may be favorably considered.
Secunda’s objective of the program is for female candidates with code 10 driver’s licenses to develop essential professional driving skills on a heavy goods vehicle (code 14). During the practical component, Learners will be provided with support to attain a Professional Driving Permit, Dangerous Good certification, and code 14 driver’s license.
The program comprises two components. The first component is a theoretical element aligned to an NQF level 3 Learnership. The second component includes practical on-site work experience to improve the skills and workplace performance of entry-level learners.
Core Elements:
Participate in Learnership program and complete assessment process;
Participate in all required workplace readiness activities and exercises.
