NSFAS applications for Trimester 2 now open and will close on May 31, 2024  Here are the eligibility requirements and application process

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a South African citizen
  •  Be registered or planning to register for a PLP, NC(V), or Report 191 program
  • Demonstrate financial need (NSFAS will assess your eligibility)
  •  Returning students must maintain good academic performance (according to your college’s policy or NSFAS guidelines, whichever is stricter)
  • Comply with the NSFAS National + Rule (explained on the NSFAS website)
  • Not be enrolling for a qualification that duplicates previous state-funded studies
  • Have a combined gross family income of R350,000 or less per year and a confirmed admission offer from your chosen TVET College

Application Process:

  • Visit the NSFAS website and navigate to the myNSFAS portal when applications open
  •  Get assistance with your application at your college’s financial aid office
    NSFAS funding covers not only tuition fees but also registration, accommodation, transport, learning materials, and other approved student needs
    Please note that the application period may close soon, so it is recommended to apply as soon as possible to avoid missing the deadline.
