Eligibility Requirements:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be registered or planning to register for a PLP, NC(V), or Report 191 program
- Demonstrate financial need (NSFAS will assess your eligibility)
- Returning students must maintain good academic performance (according to your college’s policy or NSFAS guidelines, whichever is stricter)
- Comply with the NSFAS National + Rule (explained on the NSFAS website)
- Not be enrolling for a qualification that duplicates previous state-funded studies
- Have a combined gross family income of R350,000 or less per year and a confirmed admission offer from your chosen TVET College
Application Process:
- Visit the NSFAS website and navigate to the myNSFAS portal when applications open
- Get assistance with your application at your college’s financial aid office
NSFAS funding covers not only tuition fees but also registration, accommodation, transport, learning materials, and other approved student needs
