Teachers and General Assistants Phase 5 Now Open

The Department of Basic Education has opened applications for Phase V of the Presidential Youth Employment Initiative (PYEI) through the Basic Education Employment Initiative (BEEI). Here are the key details:
Education Assistants: Supporting teaching and learning in classrooms, with roles such as:
Curriculum Assistants: Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and curriculum support:
Reading Champions: Promoting literacy and reading programs among learners.
E-Cadres (ICT Integration): Integrating technology into classroom learning.
Care & Support Assistants: Providing psychosocial support to students.
Laboratory Assistants: Supporting science experiments and lab maintenance.
Workshop Assistants: Aiding in technical and vocational training workshops.
General School Assistants: Supporting school maintenance and extracurricular activities, with roles such
Handymen/Women: Maintaining school infrastructure.
Sports & Enrichment Assistants: Leading sports, arts, and cultural programs.
Requirements:

South African citizens aged 18-34
Unemployed and not enrolled in formal education.
Valid South African bank account.
Reside within 5km of an urban school or 30km of a rural/farm school.
Previous participants of PYEI-BEEI Phases I, II, III, and IV are eligible to reapply.
