To perform bench work according to set criteria and standards on all benches in the Microbiology Laboratory and to provide training to the employees on all benches under supervision.

Requirements:

HPCSA Registration in Relevant Register and Practice Field (Required), National Diploma in Medical Technology / Enrolment in Bachelor of Health Science Medical Laboratory Science (Required)

Required Experience:

5 months ofwork-integrated learning in a training lab, Knowledge: HPCSA regulations, Knowledge: Meditech system, Knowledge: Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA)

Key Responsibilities:

Examine microscopies on the various specimens to ensure correct interpretation of patient results, Interpret cultures to ensure that correct results are delivered timeously, Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath, and Perform general tasks to ensure that best practice is upheld within the laboratory, Perform identifications and sensitivities on positive cultures to ensure effective handling and processing of identifications and sensitivities, Perform receiving and resulting tasks on the Meditech system to ensure correct handling, preparing and recording of specimen and results., Perform relevant procedures in the TB laboratory to ensure effective handling and processing of TB cultures, Process specimens on benches to ensure sufficient delivery of results
