Barberton Mine In-Service Traineeship Program

Barberton Mines Internship and Experiential Learning Programmes are a unique opportunity to gain necessary skills in the mining industry and also gain exposure to fields of expertise as well as acquire critical business competencies.

Barberton Mines aims to provide graduates and diplomates (P1+P2) students with an opportunity to gain exposure to the work environment for a limited duration contract period of 2 years as a graduate intern and 6 months as a P1+P2 student. Prospective candidates in possession of relevant N2 or higher qualifications will also be considered for experiential learning.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements: (Internship)

  • South African Citizenship.
  • National Diploma or Degree relevant to the mining industry (Non-negotiable)
  • Good communication skills
  • Good supervisory, management, and leadership skills
  • Basic computer literacy
  • A minimum pass rate of 60% and above for subjects in the final year. (No subject failures)
  • Barberton Mines Valid Medical fitness certificate within 21 days from accepting our offer.
  • Security clearance certificate – clean criminal record

Minimum Requirements: (P1 & P2)

  • South African Citizenship.
  • A formal letter from a tertiary institution of learning, confirming the required in-service training for the field of the study mentioned above
  • Completed national diploma qualification relevant to the mining industry
  • Completed N2 qualification relevant to the particular trade
  • The minimum pass rate of 60% and above for subjects in the final year (no subject failures)
  • Good communication skills
  • Good supervisory, management, and leadership skills
  • Barberton Mines Valid Medical fitness certificate within 21 days from accepting our offer
  • Security clearance certificate – clean criminal record
